Robert Algiere is President of Algiere Construction Services, Inc. which he formed in 2002 to further his passion for providing superior hotel refurbishment services to the national hospitality industry. Prior to that time, he held the President's position at a company called Design Trend International Interiors, LTD from 1978 to 2002. Design Trend provided turnkey design/build services to the hotel industry also. The difference today is semantics; Algiere Construction Services, Inc. and Algiere Design and Purchasing Services, Inc. work hand in hand to develop refurbishment projects as a Design/Build team through a seamless merging of both staffs for on-time, accurate quality results.

               Robert started in the hotel industry as a union carpenter working on a Ramada Hotel development in Mystic, Connecticut during summers off from his design studies at Rhode Island Jr. College. This cycle continued for several years and he gained exposure of the interior finishing and turnover process at three hotel sites; Mystic, CT, Woburn, Mass. and Alexandria, VA, before he graduated.  Subsequently he was made a full-time employee of Ramada Hotels International and was responsible for overseeing the conversions of hotel lounges in the Northeastern Region from a live band format to the hot new Disco format. A total of 44 hotels were within his region and for the next three years he toured with a working crew to redesign and develop those rooms into successful venues for the chain.

               The time came to travel West, into a new region which required a more expanded role into deferred maintenance of facilities and implementation of a new Preventative Maintenance Program aimed at reduced cost of operations through more timely repair and maintenance of facilities management.

               An opportunity came in 1978 for Robert to leave the security of the large corporation and strike out on his own. In October 1978, Design Trend International Interiors, LTD was formed to provide interior and exterior redesign services with a full compliment of purchasing and construction management support all under one contract. Riding on the national successes at Ramada, Design Trend became a fast hit with hotel owners, contract management operators and national chain brands by offering the turnkey approach on a national level. Consistency and effective pricing were and still are the cornerstones of success for Robert and his companies. 

               More than two decades later, Robert has continued providing quality design, purchasing and construction services to hotel owners throughout North America. Today, the companies he runs carry his namesake; Algiere Construction Services, Inc. & Algiere Design & Purchasing Services, Inc. The corporate headquarters is located in Plano, Texas just north of Dallas, Texas with a secondary procurement office in a Pittsburgh, PA suburb. His client list holds some of America's largest real estate developers and international hotel chains as well as the prestige of having worked in hotels in Whistler, Canada, Maui, Hawaii, Hamilton, Bermuda, Scottsdale, Arizona and in Mexico.
